Bagua Guide For Your Living Room

Living room, a space which represents your social life, you are able to engage with others & rest in this space. Let's look into the meaning of Bagua, what each area represents and how you can renovate & decorate your living room to improve how you live.

A Bagua consists of 8 symbols used to represent the fundamental principles of reality. It is an energy map that compromised of eight life areas around a center. 

The word 'Ba' means eight & 'Gua' means area, and 'Bagua' means eight areas. Each area is associated with different unique attributes. Different areas are connected to different aspects of life. 

Before starting any renovation work to the house, the Bagua can be placed over the floorplan. Firstly, getting an accurately scaled floor plan then matching up the areas to the Bagua. If your living room falls into more areas of Bagua, you can look at the attributes & work the areas to your benefit. 

The 8 Bagua areas & each meaning are: 

Zhen 震: 

Family & Health, Wood Element, Colours include Teal, Green & Blue

Xun 巽: 

Wealth & Abundance, Wood Element, Colours include Purple, Red

Li 離:

Fame & Recognition, Fire Element, Colours include Red

Kun 坤:

Love & Partnership, Earth Element, Colours include Pink, White

Dui 兌:

Children & Creativity, Metal Element, Colours include White

Qian 乾: 

Benefactors & Travel, Metal Element, Colours include Grey, White

Kan 坎:

Career & Path in life, Water Element, Colours include Black, Dark Blue

Gen 艮:

Knowledge & Self Cultivation, Earth Element, Colours include Blue, Green

What can be displayed in each area? 

• Zhen 震: Large Plants like bamboo, Wood Furniture. Displaying family photos, artwork with with nature & landscape. 

• Xun 巽 : Amethyst Crystals, Purple Artwork, Display things you value in life, real plants with curved leaves. 

• Li 離 : Candles, artwork with intense sunsets, items with pyramid/triangle shape, red crystals & displays.

• Kun 坤 : Rose Quartz Crystal Displays, Salt Rock lamps, Photos with your significant one.  

• Dui 兌: Metallic items, Bells, Mirrors, Circle or Oval Shapes, Children's artwork, photos. 

• Qian 乾: Photos of the places you will like to travel to, Globes, Maps. 

• Kan 坎 : Water Fountain, fish Tank, Blue Art Paintings, Oriental Rugs

• Gen 艮 :Storing things related to knowledge & spirituality like development books, spiritual tools. Decorating it into a space specially for meditation practice
