Mahakala 大黑天

In Sanskrit, Maha means “Great” and Kala means “Time or Death. Thus, Mahakala means Beyond Time or Death”. Mahakala is a deity that symbolises the wrathful aspect of compassion, transformation of anger into compassion. He is also the protector of the Buddhist Dharma. His role is to guide sentient beings to overcome negative obstacles and lead them towards the path of enlightenment. His wrathful features allows him to destroy obstacles and negativity that one faces during their journey towards enlightenment.
