Before we begin, as a rule of thumb, never paint any ceilings in black or blue (water element) as it represents you under water, drowning. Additionally, it is important that you decide on the intention for the specific room. Once done you will be able to pick the element to fill up the room.
As a guide, here is a chart of the colours as an expression of 5 Feng Shui Elements and if they clash or complement each other.
Living Room
First up, the living room, the room that is shared amongst everyone in the household. An energy that would be ideal in this space is the energy from earth elements. The earth element can provide stability, grounding and nourishment. Thus, painting your living room in earthy tones can bring about a soothing atmosphere for the whole family with the added benefits of stability, nourishment and balance. Do take note to avoid excessive use of the colour red as it may bring about anger and conflicts with one another.
Kitchen
As for the kitchen, to instill creativity in your cooking and ensure good health, you can introduce wood elements into the kitchen. Use green and brown tones to bring about growth, health, strength and stability.

The bedroom is where you rest thus using colours of the earth element is recommended as the element can bring about nourishment. According to the chart above, the earth element can be complemented with the metal element. Using colours such as white and brown into the room will bring about a clarity of mind. Using colours such as blue which represents abundance and wealth would go well in your home office/study room. Do take note to avoid using colours in the fire elements as it could cause distractions.
Toilet

Instead, paint the walls of your toilets in the colours of the metal element as it complements with the water element. To add more life and colour into your toilet, you can introduce wood elements such as plants as the metal element complements with the wood element.
